Author Norton Juster has adapted his popular and whimsical novel for the stage with lyricist Sheldon Harnick (Tony Award, Fiddler on the Roof) and composer Arnold Black. Directed by Jane Staab, The Phantom Tollbooth is celebrating its 50th Anniversary at Wheelock Family Theatre with an exhilarating musical performance! A magical tollbooth and a toy car whisk the bored Milo away from his overused toys and forgotten lessons to the Land of Expectations. With the help of a loyal watchdog, Toc, Milo learns to scale the Mountains of Ignorance, negotiate through the Doldrums, and settle the score between the Princesses of Rhyme and Reason. In a world filled with fantastic characters, perplexing puzzles, and superfluous vocabulary, Wheelock Family Theatre invites you to discover how time really does fly when you are having fun!
