Literature, poetry, music and other cultural records tell us how countless the ways are in which we love. The three Mateo ballets featured in  How Do I Love Thee? speak to universal aspects of love as they appear in different forms – from the formality of Pre-Renaissance courtship to the unrestrained spontaneity of the 21st century intimate relationships.

The concert features Reverie (2003), set to music by Ravel, Lovers, Fools, Saints, and Sinners (2007), set to various Italian Early Music composers, and Timeless Attractions (2010), to music by Ginastera.

How Do I Love Thee? offers a unique theater experience with an extraordinary close-up view of the dancers, reserved cabaret-style seating and cocktails during the show. Recently hailed by Boston Magazine as “Best of Boston 2011 Dance Performance”, the glorious Sanctuary Theatre is home to Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre and considered one of the area’s most spectacular performance spaces.
