A FAR CRY, the self-conducted chamber orchestra that has been taking the Boston music scene by storm, teams up with Urbanity Dance on January 11 in a program of great “Chemistry.” This evening of collaboration and reinvention features the world premiere of “Dancing with Bach,” a suite of keyboard pieces in orchestrations by prize-winning composer Eric Nathan, and Stravinsky’s evocative modern ballet “Apollon Musagète.” The extraordinary virtuosity of A Far Cry, and Betsi Graves's probing, athletic choreography promise to elucidate and transform this great music and to lift your spirit out of the January doldrums.

A Far Cry stands at the forefront of an exciting new generation in classical music. With more than two hundred performances, three albums, and a European tour, they also serve as Chamber Orchestra in Residence at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. This concert represents A Far Cry’s first participation in Arts Boston. Do come and enjoy!
