SpeakEasy Stage Company

SpeakEasy Stage Company's mission is to connect, inspire, and challenge our audience with the most socially relevant theatrical premieres featuring the most talented artists in Boston. We believe that live theater must be an intimate and entertaining experience. We strive to go above and beyond for our audience to create an environment that is professional, comfortable, and fun. We focus on producing quality theatre performances while fostering teamwork and efficiency to achieve excellence. We trust each other and treat all of our artists, volunteers, and patrons with respect, courtesy, compassion, and honesty. Recently. SpeakEasy received the Theatre Hero Award from StageSource for its dedication to nurturing and supporting Boston area theatre artists and for its leadership and inspiration to the theatre community of Greater Boston. SpeakEasy was named the Pavilion Resident Theater for the Boston Center for the Arts in 2007. Our programs make the South End a destination for artists. tourists, and theatre patrons. We are committed to keeping theater vital in Boston through our longstanding tradition of intimate, live perfomances. We encourage you to become a member of SpeakEasy's growing subscriber family. As a subscriber, you will enjoy the best seats and lowest possible prices for every show in our season.     Xanadu Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA Xanadu Presented by SpeakEasy Stage Company at Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA May 11-June 9, 2012 Based on the cult film of the same name, this riotous new musical follows the efforts of a magical Greek muse named Kira who descends to Earth to help a struggling artist achieve his dream of opening a roller disco. Featuring an ingenious book by Douglas Carter Beane (The Little Dog Laughed) and a score full of chart-topping tunes (Magic, Suddenly, Evil Woman), Xanadu is hilarity on wheels. Book by Douglas Carter Beane Music and Lyrics by Jeff Lynne & John Farrar
