Boston Choral Ensemble

The Boston Choral Ensemble, one of New England's premiere chamber choirs, is an auditioned, mixed-voice ensemble dedicated to providing opportunities for singers and audiences to enjoy and learn about challenging, high-quality choral music. Our programs are recognized for their innovative blend of repertoire from across many centuries interspersed with regular commentary from the singers. Under the leadership of artistic director Andrew Shenton, the group presents six to ten performances each season in the greater Boston area including three pay-as-you-can programs in Copley Square. The Ensemble has several community outreach partners and sponsors the region's largest commissioning competition with an annual award supporting the creation of new works for chamber choir.

    BCE presents CHICHESTER First Church in Cambridge, Congregational BCE presents CHICHESTER Presented by Boston Choral Ensemble at First Church in Cambridge, Congregational June 1, 2012 This concert features works commissioned by Dean Walter Hussey for Chichester Cathedral in England, including Leonard Bernstein’s sensational Chichester Psalms, the stunning Chichester Mass by American composer William Albright, a setting of Psalm 23 by Lennox Berkeley, and canticle settings by Bryan Kelly and William Walton.
